Accounts are not deleted, not even for obvious spammers. If you don't want to use the forums anymore, log off and don't return.

Posted 11 months ago #Oh come on, log into the database, find the user row and change the username field. I simply want to protect my privacy and remove my name, I am not asking for anything out of the ordinary. But I think it's a basic thing for a user to be able to remove his personal details and keep his privacy.

When esmi says 'we cannot do that' what she means is 'We do not have the technical ability to do that.' The mods and admins here don't have SQL access.
Besides, even if we change your userID, you'll still show up on Google Searches for a long time, because they'll have been archived with the user name you used at the time.
