delete image slider on blog page

Hi, hope anybody can help me with this. Im using theme Adapt, with plugin polylang to have the site in 2 languages.
My goal is to have a static homepage with:
*menu
*image slider ( plugin metaslider, hp slides which comes with the theme only works on the blog page)
*some text
*3 or 4 footer areas.

What I dont want on that homepage is to show the most recent posts.

At the same moment the idea is that the blog page is just an empty blog page, without image slider.

I have been trying all kind of combinations in settings > reading.
This in combination with different templates for the home and blog page (full width, blog, default etc) But none of them gave me the right result.

Right now Im back to my orignal setting : static page with front page is home, static page is blog. The homepage is ok as it is, but on the blog page the image slider is showing and also the highlights areas I have been playing with (comes with the theme, hp highlights)

(Ideally these highlights should be on the homepage…but if I assign the blog template to the homepage, also the most recent posts are published on the homepage which is not the idea.)

BTW. I have tried also to de-activate the polylang plugin. And all other plugins. Same result.
