Defaulting to "Uncategorized"

Hi there, I installed a couple of Pintrest related plugins to check them out. Now suddenly my posts default to uncategorized. >:( to the plugin that did that.

I searched the topic and found discussions from 4 yrs ago & 7years ago and all the links are dead and didn’t really understand what they were saying anyway.

Things I’ve tired:
Uninstalling the plugins
Updating to 3.4.1 of WP
Cursing and swearing

When giving fix info please keep in mind I’m not PHP savvy and have only a vague idea of even where to find that code.
