I've used your plugin on multiple sites now, and really appreciate its ease of use.

However, the one issue I've found is that for MailChimp lists that use groups, the comment form checkbox doesn't automatically subscribe them to the top group. That's fine for some MailChimp lists that use either or radio boxes, for example--they'll send to the entire list when they send their main email. However, I use four different groups and never send to the whole list. Thus, my comment form subscribers are falling through the cracks because they are never getting added to any group. And manually going back through all my subscribers to make sure there aren't any group-less subscribers is a pain.

I know your group options are for your Pro plugin, but could you at least allow us to set a default group for the comment form checkbox? Thank you!

    Hi Gretchen,

Even in Pro, group options are not supported when using the sign-up checkbox. Yet. I am working on it. It won't be long, a few weeks at most.

I'll update this topic as soon as it's done.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Danny

PS. would you like to be able to add extra fields (ie group options) to the comment form too? Or does a hidden group value suffice. I'm not sure how to go about this yet because the checkbox is able to integrate with many forms.

    Hi Danny,

Thanks for your always prompt support! Glad to know it's still in the works.

A hidden group value is better than nothing! That would at least take care of the subscribers slipping through the cracks who aren't landing in any groups.

I would love to be able to add group options to the comment form, too--i.e. "click here to subscribe to my newsletter" and "click here to subscribe to my blog posts". Another option I'd love to know how to code is to have a different checkbox option depending on the parent category of the post. But that's probably not a frequent feature request. :)

    Thanks again!

    Gretchen

Just to chip in, a hidden value would work for me. I use separate groups for English and French email subscriptions, and if I could throw in some PHP to select the group based on the language people are viewing with that would be really helpful.
