    How can I change my default comment settings? Right now comments are automatically off for whenever I make a post, and I want to change that so everytime that I post they will automatically be on.

    Also, will this change previous posts? If not, is there a way to automatically turn comments on for all of posts? Thank you!

    Options > Discussion. Check/uncheck settings there as required (i.e. 'Allow people to post comments on the article').

    This will not affect pre-existing posts, so if you have access to your database through some sort of MySQL admin tool (like phpMyAdmin), you can perform a query like the following to hit those:

    UPDATE wp_posts SET comment_status = 'open', ping_status = 'open';

    If you use a different table prefix in your database other than the default ('wp_'), make sure to change wp_posts to the correct table name.
