   I've edited functions.php to set some default avatars, which are displayed in Discussion Settings.

   Suddenly, my default avatar is not displaying. Instead, the default Gravatar logo is showing.

   Everything looks good in my Discussion Settings. I can see my default avatar is displayed and selected. So why is my avatar not displaying?

   Might be the theme you are using. The theme author could have set it to use a particular image.
