   I am needing to deactivate some of my plugins to see if I can find if there's one causing a conflict with another that I need. If I deactivate plugins do they lose all their settings?

   I have a couple that have extensive stuff set up in them and I don't want to lose all that if I can help it.

   Most plugins will not remove their settings when you deactivate them. There are some that do; but my experience is that that's pretty rare.

   Just to be on the safe side, I sometimes grab screenshots of the more extensive settings pages so I can refer back to them if it all does go pear-shaped.
