dd/mm/yyyy is it possible?

Yea, I found that one, but that only sorts the issue partially.
I want visitors to be able to use dd/mm/yyyy format when filling out date field.
I know it’s most likely related to browser support of HTML5, right?
I’ve noticed that for example Chrome is handling that best, automatically changing the format to localized dd/mm/yyyy, but other browsers suck at this…
I guess there’s nothing I can do to force dd/mm/yyyy for all browsers?
