Chalyons3I apologize for my ignorance relating to all of this, however, I'll try to be as clear as possible.
My site (www.charlesirby.com) was running fine but I wanted to update to WP 3.0.1. However, after the update I received instructions to add the following to wp-config.php:
define('WP_ALLOW_REPAIR', true);
I then received the following error and instructions to look for help on the forums:
wp_1_posts: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_posts' doesn't exist
wp_1_comments: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_comments' doesn't exist
wp_1_links: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_links' doesn't exist
wp_1_options: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_options' doesn't exist
wp_1_postmeta: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_postmeta' doesn't exist
wp_1_terms: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_terms' doesn't exist
wp_1_term_taxonomy: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_term_taxonomy' doesn't exist
wp_1_term_relationships: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_term_relationships' doesn't exist
wp_1_commentmeta: Table 'charlesi_wrdp2.wp_1_commentmeta' doesn't exist
After a search on the forums I logged into phpMyAdmin, checked all the databases under charlesi_wrdp2 and selected repair under the drop down menu. Everything seemed to work out ok with that, however, it didn't seem to solve anything. (Note: the database names did NOT have a "1" between "wp" and "posts", "comments", etc.)
I'm still getting this message when I try to log into my admin for the site:
"One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired."
and sometimes I receive this message while navigating through the site:
"Error establishing a database connection"
I don't know if it is relevant but I recall installing some sort of database manager or backup plugin.
I would appreciate any help with getting everything set straight again so I can continue to post my work!
