• I upgraded to 3.52 on my site – nicatous.com – and got the following message on my screen:
Database Update Required – WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version. – The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.

The update looks like it is going to work and then just stops with no other message. I did a search in this forum for this problem and found different things to try but NONE of them worked for me.

I also contacted my webhost to see if they could figure it out and they also are stymied.

The site looks normal but if I try to get into the dashboard, I get the message that I show above. There is no way to get into the dashboard to reactivate plugins or to change the theme.

I have tried to manually reinstall wp but that didn’t help. I’m out of thoughts on this and I really don’t want to lose my site.

Please can someone help me to figure this out. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Josh, I read the article and really nothing seems to fit for this problem. I got a message when I updated that the update was successful but that I needed to upgrade my database. That is when the trouble began.

I don’t understand some of the stuff in the article but I did check anything that I did understand. My upgrade folder is empty, BTW.
