Database not upgrading - please help... (3 posts)

I upgraded to 3.52 on my site - nicatous.com - and got the following message on my screen:
Database Update Required - WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version. - The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.

The update looks like it is going to work and then just stops with no other message. I did a search in this forum for this problem and found different things to try but NONE of them worked for me.

I also contacted my webhost to see if they could figure it out and they also are stymied.

The site looks normal but if I try to get into the dashboard, I get the message that I show above. There is no way to get into the dashboard to reactivate plugins or to change the theme.

I have tried to manually reinstall wp but that didn't help. I'm out of thoughts on this and I really don't want to lose my site.

Please can someone help me to figure this out. Thanks, in advance, for any help.

  2. See if you spot anything in this article which might help:

Josh, I read the article and really nothing seems to fit for this problem. I got a message when I updated that the update was successful but that I needed to upgrade my database. That is when the trouble began.

I don't understand some of the stuff in the article but I did check anything that I did understand. My upgrade folder is empty, BTW.
