My wordpress is working, the wp-config file is set up right, I can write and post, but non of it shows up on my blog. On top of that, my blog still looks like it did before (not the way it should with wordpress). It is like wordpress is there and working on my server but the server is showing the wrong (old) database. Do I need to point my apache scriptalias somewhere? Is there a way to switch the database in the apache config file? I am at a loss.

The wp-config.php does point to what database is used. Are you sure you are not being directed to use the old wordpress files, thus the old wp-config.php file?
What folder has the old files? What folder has the new files.
Can you delete (or rename) the old wp-config.php just to make sure that you aren't using the old blog?
