Need to pick some brains if I may, I have been changing a site over from joomla to WP, I have created the WP version of the site on a localserver, when I upload the new wp version to the website it will be hosted on about 60% of the menu's seem to vanish, which is no big deal as the pages are still there so I can just add them back to the menu..WRONG! so much for no big deal! When I try to create the missing menu's and click save they just vanish again!.. could really do with some help here guys and gals! Obviously its a url issue going from localhost to a live site..
I have changed site url via phpmyadmin so I know that is fine, but still the menu's just vanish, as this is a charity website I am DESPERATE to sort this! Helpppppp please.
You might be hitting a custom menu limitation issue.

Well I can go well past the 16 that is reported there plus there is no errors to that effect, when I upload the mysql file into phpmyadmin all menu items are there, as soon as I try to save a new menu item about 50 - 60 percent of all menu items vanish, after that i cant save any menus as they just vanish again!
Also when I try to add the item to menu again, I add it as a child item and it saves as a parent item, then when I try to save it as a child item again it then just vanishes for good

16 is not a hard & fast number. It varies from server to server.
well I am at a complete loss on this one, this is about the 10th site I have migrted to WP doing exactly the same as I did on the other 9, this only difference is that this site consists of mainly iframes as pages, I have now tried useing the default theme and default permalinks and the result is the same, the second I click save menu 60 percent of menu items are gone, even if I just click save when there is nothing to save. It would have to be for the one charity site I have wouldnt it! that is what upsets me the most!

Just noticed something really strange, when I select the item to add to the menu it shows as a page, then when I click save (takes ages to save) the item that was a page has now changed to a custom item, it is then when I click save again it vanishes, this is after I have lost 60 percent of all items
Yes they are all on the same VPS.. Here is a table of events..
1. upload sql file to phpmyadmin.
2. go to admin - menus in WP and everything is there as it shouls be.
3. click save menu and 60 percent vanishes.
4. Tick 1 page to add to menu which shows as a page is menu list, click save and it changes to custom item, click save again and then vanished!
Definitely a server issue.
well I can not understand how that is, think I will try deleting the menu and try to rebuild it from scratch, if that does not work then I guess that one site will have to stay as a joomla site
hmmm got to the same place and it STILL does it, even after a rebuild of menu's so I guess its bck to joomla for this site
Just checked my vps and suhosin is not enabled, and other ideas?
going to try to enable it to see if in some strange way it actually helps!
Well that didnt help, is there ANYONE who can help on this? I really dont want to go back to joomla but looks like i will have to :(
Well I have even tried changing php version on the server and still cant get it to work! And looks like I am now talking to myself on here now
