I'm moving a hosted installation to my local computer. I have a working LAMP stack(Linux Mint). I have an exported sql databse named "wor1" and I have the wordpress files in /var/www. I've got a lot of stuff!

I'm in the wp-condig file and I keep experiementing with DB_NAME and PASSWORD and USER but I can't get beyond the error. I tried importing the database into two different database and changing the config to match. I've used the password that I access PHPmyAdmin, the user and password found inside the database, I've even used my account password and name.

Before I start over is there somewhere else I should look for the password?

Also, I'm pointing the browser to localhost/wordpress, is that correct?

    thanks for any help.

You can use the root database password for local PC. Or you can even change the root password:

    Scroll down to "Install MySQL".
