• Hi, I have several custom fields and one of them will (intermittently) not accept new input. I may try to change one word, one letter, or just delete all existing data in the filed for a post then save the draft of the post but it reverts back to the data that was input before the save. This is intermittent. I have repeatedly optimized and have repaired the database over and over again but this makes a difference only once in every six or so times. The problem is really putting me behind in terms of completing the project and I have grave concerns about what the client will think when they find out that their database loses data. Does anyone have any idea what could cause something like this or how to go about tracking it down or how to fix it. Anything at all?! Any and all help much appreciated.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
