    Hi,

when I run the plugin on a blog with > 6000 Blogposts it seems to kill the database connection from time to time.

Is it possible to let the plugin just check 1 or 2 links every hour?

    Regards

Broken Link checker is a great tool but it's memory hungry.

    From WPEngine ( http://support.wpengine.com/disallowed-plugins/ ) :

    Broken Link Checker Alternatives

If you used the Broken Link Checker plugin and wish we hadn’t banned it, we recommend that you use one of the following tools to check your site for broken links:

It’s not a plugin, and won’t make the server unhappy: http://www.brokenlinkcheck.com/. An even better solution to using a website to scan for broken links would be an application that you install on your computer:

Broken Link Check — Online, limited to 3000 pages.
Xenu Link Sleuth — Windows only.
    Integrity — Macintosh only.

On a 12,000-page site running on a Hostgator Business Plan I see this occasionally. More recently, HG has shut down all my sites for a period of one hour (not sure if this preventive or punitive). I have had no problems since I deactivated the BLC plugin.

Perhaps there is a way to throttle back the load that the plugin imposes on the server?
