I get the "Error establishing database connection" message when attempting to connect to my site using the http://www.site.com/blog but it connects fine using new.site.com/blog (this is the one I used to set it up initially). The database is set to connect to localhost in the wp-config file. The two DNS names both resolve to the same IP. What am I doing wrong?

The new URL needs to be in the database in multiple places.

Posted 1 year ago #Could you be more specific? This is a WordPress 3.0.1 Network set up with about 15 sites run in sub-directory mode.

You said in your original post:

If you then changed the domain name after setting up the network, you must do a search & replace in the ENTIRE database for the old domain name and replace it with the new.
