Does anyone know a resource that shows how to create forms, submit them and write the data to a db table? I assume it involves calling php scripts to process the forms and write to the db. I know enough to do this in php files but have never tried to do it in WP. I have created tables in the WP database to insert the form data to.

    Thanks.

  2. There are a few plugins that do that for you like contact form 7, easy contact forms and gravity forms. If you wanted to learn how they do it, you could just look at the plugin files.

If you just want to submit a form though, I would use a plugin. :)

Christine, thanks for the info. The amount of php code and the number of files required for these plugins to interact with WP is pretty formidable.

I want to create and submit secure forms, then dynamically populate other forms and reports by pulling the submitted data from the database. I have never attempted this in a WP framework. Actually I am only getting started in WP but haven't seen a plugin that would accomplish these things.

If anyone knows a resource that covers the requirements of writing and executing php scripts in WP I would greatly appreciate.
