I used the complete scan because my site is infected and it was sending out spam. It found 1 known threat which I had removed. My dashboard is now unresponsive / extremely slow. I would like to do a complete scan again, but the scan page (or any othe rplugin / dashboard feature for that matter) won’t load….

Here is the file that was removed:

    /var/www/domains/allforchildren.info/www/wp-content/themes/academica/functions/wpzoom/assets/js/shortcode-generator/shortcodes/signoutbmy0.php

What now? I am very much a WP noob…

Ps: every coupkle of minutes or so it works 100% fine, loads a couple of pages, but then goes back to being unresponsive.

My suspicion is that there is more malicious code still hiding in your site somewhere but it could also be that your site is under attack by hackers and that’s why it is unresponsive only some of the time. I would be happy to help you with this by searching for any remaining threats and checking log files to see why the site is not always responding.

The easiest way for me to help you is if you could send me your WP Admin login info. You can email it directly to me: eli AT gotmls DOT net or contact me through my site gotmls.net

Sent. Thanks! Although it has been fast for a while now.

    Hi Michiel,
Thanks for send me your login info. I found that malicious code in the hotfix plugin. It looks like that whole plugin was infected with a backdoor.

I have added this new threat to my definition update and cleaned it off your server. Keep a close eye on your site for any suspicious behavior and let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

    Aloha, Eli
