dashboard stat plug in MIA

    I downloaded and activated stats 1.6.3 so that I could get my Blog ID so that I could get the WP-Stats-Dashboard options working. But 1.6.3 is not showing up on my plugins window. When I try to install it again, I get a message saying “already installed.” I thought it might be a matter of saving it to the wrong directory, so I tried both wp-content/plugins/stats/ and wp-content/cache/plugins, making sure to retrace my step so that I don’t have two sets of folders at once to risk confusing the program. Now I’m at a loss. Any ideas?
