   Going nuts.

   Dashboard > Screen Options > Show on screen:
   I uncheck the box but the selection keeps coming back.

   are you trying to remove one of the default metaboxes or one added by a plug in? Or does this happen if you try to remove any metabox from display?

   Thanks for your reply. Sorry I thought the problem was pretty obvious.

   Within your Dashboard you have all these options:
   Your browser is out of Date!
   Right Now
   Recent Comments
   Incoming Links
   Recent Drafts
   Wordpress Blog
   Other WordPress News
   plus a few others.

   All the above listed is preceded with a check box. I uncheck it, but it just comes back as checked.

   I've tried to toss my cookies (clear browser data). I'm using Chromium not Chrome.

   I can move a box from one column to another.

   But I can't get rid of the stuff I really don't need nor want. I've spent so much time on this I'm just going to "accept" it :)

   I would test using a different browser to rule that out - and if possible also on a different computer.
   I would also test after deactivating all WordPress plugins to investigate whether there is one causing this.

   Yes, I'll try different browsers first than move on to deactivating plugins.

   Thank you. I appreciate your suggestions. My fingers are crossed :)

   I have this issue with 3.2.1 as well. I have tried multiple browsers and deactivated all plugins. When I uncheck the various dashboard options, they do not hide the widgets on the dashboard page.
