For anyone looking to replace or supplement the dashboard with their own blog info, definitely check out Angsuman's version of the Dashboard. It is awesome!! I highly recommend it! [see post above]

As a matter of interest can I replace [the Dashboard] with [content of] my own?

Probably. I think all you need to edit is the index.php file in /wp-admin/, but don't quote me on that.

Hmm, I think it's curious this happened after the IE security patches, a lot of things depending on XML are either not working, or seriously throwing around errors..

Just a hunch.. but i reckon that the latest rounds of updates is to blame..

We already know what the problem is. No, it has nothing to do with IE. You shouldn't be using IE to begin with. See: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/36092?page=1#post-206938

This is not due to a fault in your blog.

The feed for the Dev Blog has changed and that is the cause. It is being addressed though and hopefully a fix will happen soon.

It may or may not be related: one additional problem that first started occurring at the same time the dashboard feeds disappeared is an occasional error message returned on a blank http page. The page only says, "feature disabled."

A search of the code returns this text in: wp-admin/update-links.php

Curiously, turning off any Links Categories with the "updated" feature previously turned on, seems to prevent this error. Of course, since it's an intermittent error, it's hard to say that turning the feature off certainly fixes the problem, it just seems to be the case so far.

I use X-Dashboard, and it's not updating either ... apparently started at about the same time as the rest.

It's currently happening on my WordPress blogs as well. No feeds showing. I'm running off Dreamhost.

Thank you Angsuman! My dashboard is now on a healthy diet.

I will chime in. I have about a dozen blogs on two hosts: iPowerweb and Dreamhost and both stopped working in the last two days. I did nothing in those past couple of days and the dashboards on both hosts stopped working at the same time!

Maybe the problem is the same as described in big black letters about 3 posts above.....

Let me quote you on that :)
I am not sure many people will understand this. To clarify.

Yes, you can trim the Dashboard yourself and to do that you have to modify only the wp-admin/index.php file.

Or you can simply use my dashboard hack and be done with Dashboard problems forever. I believe there are other hacks too and probably a plugin too. I know Squeag had modified my hack to include some relevant feed info too. You will find the link by following the link above in the comment section. Off course you can always Google.

There is a third option. Wait for the WP feed(s) to get fixed. And then you will start seeing WordPress feeds again, till the next time it breaks ;)
