I've upgraded twice from version 2.5 (I think...my original site was started in Jan of 07). I didn't notice until I installed a brand new blog that there is a dashboard on the right hand side that allows you to access all of the different parts of WordPress. Until now I've just been posting posts and didn't need to tweak the theme.
The problem now is that I have a new theme that needs some tweaking - you can see the "about this site" at http://www.webwritinginfo.com is in gibberish.
How do I get this dashboard to appear?

I know how to login. :) I'm talking about once I login and I'm in the control panel.
Here is a screenshot of the blog (upgraded to new wordpress):
Versus one of my other blogs that was a clean install:
I can't do much with the first blog until I know how to get that left hand side dashboard.
Any idea how I can get this to appear or do I need to clean it out and then restart from scratch?

Hi there, sounds like your dashboard is not fully expanded, find the icon of the small house at the very top left, underneath is another small link which should open the left side of the dashboard, once opend you should have three columns, for finding theme editor, plugins, and appearance the sidebar is self xplanatory.
hope it helps.
mike.
PS. judging by your screenshots, you have the full dashboard.

Hi Mike,
It looks like I uploaded the same screenshot twice - here is the actual one that I'm having a problem with:

I have a large house, but nothing in the corner.
Thanks for your attempt to help!
Hi again, well the latest screenshot shows no leftbar, the only thing I can suggest is reuploading wp-admin directory, maybe a fresh copy.
hope it works out.

ahh - i found the culprit...
"lighter-admin-drop-menus" (i just deleted the entire folder using cpanel and everything seems to work now)
