Hi, I am not sure what you call it here, I have looked but cant find anything in the plugins or widgets that comes close.
I'm looking for a message board or something similar that is added to my dashboard that both admin and members can post to for updates and problems on the blog. Is there such a thing?

You can use Jalenack's ajax shoutbox for this purpose.
see the ajax shoutbox's link.
install that plugin and put the shoutbox as a widget inside the dashboard using the widgetized dashboard plugin.

Hi thank you for your reply. I did try installing those but they wouldnt work on my WP. I'm using WP 2.7 beta 3, and when I installed ftp'd the shoutbox, it wouldnt show up in my Plugin area, and when I ftp'd the widgetized dashboard, nothing showed in the dashboard itself or the widget section.
Do you know if they work with the version of WP that I have?

Does anybody have any other options for the initial question I have, I would really like to get some form of message board for my Dashboard.

You should have got a new widget area name "wordpress dashboard" under the widgets tab. as in the case of widget in your themes.

It didnt appear, it just had Widgets in it. It also said that the compatibility/tested up to WP 2.5, and I'm using 2.7 beta 1. When its installed, when I try to click on the widgets already in my side bar, I get a box asking me if I want to navigate away from the page, and I click yes, and nothing happens it just comes back to the widget page. I am using Journalized Theme, so maybe its not compatible?

I'm about to create another plug-in "Dashboard Messages" which I guess makes it the second in the my Dashboard plug-in series.
Can you all offer some suggestions of the features you would like.

Hi joshcook, I would like a feature that allows for members to leave messges on the dashboard, for admin as in possible problems with the site.
