Hello, I’m entirely new to WordPress and blogging.I’ve set up my blog and it was working fine till yesterday. Now I woke up today and suddenly found out that my Dashboard is all messed up.It is not loading properly and all the options are showing down the left side of my screen. There are no error messages though. The site itself is working fine.

I’ve searched and found similar problems in this forum but I’m a complete novice is html or css and don’t know how to solve this.however I think I can manage to rectify the problem if there is step by step instruction.

    Please help.

  • Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thanks esmi for replying.I’ve done as you said.Uploaded the contents of wp-admin and wp-includes folders to the hosting server but no result.

I have also tried renaming the plugins folder, that too has had no effect. What is the problem? Is CSS related? It would have been helpful if I could just show a screenshot of my dashboard here.

    Help, anybody.

Is there a way you can give us a screenshot?

Hello tomaltman, I’ve posted a screenshot on by blog itself. It is here

    Hope it helps!

Something is affecting the CSS of the dashboard. What if you deactivate all the plugins…it still is messed up?

Also – what theme are you running?

I have tried renaming the whole plugins directory to pplugins and reload the dashboard. No effect.I didn’t wait much before logging in though.Does it take time?

I was using Evolve when the problem occured. Now I’ve activated Clear Line, but the problem is the same.

Did you see the second screenshot. There are some notifications saying ‘IT REQUIRES JAVASCRIPT to RUN’. I’m using this blog on a free hosting service for testing purposes before I move to paid hosting.I was thinking if anything is wrong with the hosting server regarding Java Script.

Possibly – I would try to run the default wordpress theme “twentyten” with no plugins and see if it works.

Ok…It’s fixed now.I restored my last backup and everything is right now.
