   When I check for updates in the dashboard for wordpress it says I am on the latest release when I see in the wordpress blog that a new release is available. I click to have it check for updates again and it still says I am on the current release.

   I am running wordpress on a synology DS212+ server if that makes any difference. I know I can manually update but would prefer to use the automatic update.

   It could be a server issue, I'm not sure. I do know that sometimes the updates take a few hours even a day to appear. I've seen this before.

   You should send your hosting provider an inquiry, perhaps they know?
