    Hi There,

Whenever I log into admin for my wordpress site it takes me to a blank page.
If I go to my my web history I am able to access
    (http://www.kpbyoge.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-background)
because the internet saved my password.

Once I am in I can do everything and anything under the sun, but go to my dashboards homepage.

Can someone please help me with this. I added only 2 plugins and this was after my problem with the dashboard, not before. So I doubt deactivating plugins will help

    Thanks

    Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, a blank page in any php program (WordPress is one of them) usually means that there is a php error and php is setup to hide errors rather than display them (for security purposes).

To help troubleshoot this issue further, I would suggest turning on WordPress Error Reporting. Once we know that exact error message, it can help track down what may be causing it.

Adding define('WP_DEBUG', true); to your wp-config.php file should help with displaying the errors. You can find more information on this here:

    Debug

If you can enable that feature and you get an error message, feel free to respond back with the full error message and I'd be happy to look into it further for you.

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am a newbie and want to make sure I am going in the correct file. I should be able to find wp-config.php file through my FTP correct?

    All the best,

    Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, yes! You should be able to find wp-config.php from within your FTP client (such as FileZilla, Cyberduck, or any number of free FTP clients available).

Just on a side note, be sure you make a backup of any file you edit, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Once I get home I will back everything up
and try what you suggested. I would die if I lost everything!

    Hi Brad,

I was able to resolve the issue with bluehost.com
I called to get info on backing up my ftp. The gentleman was able to load new core files
he said that seemed to have gotten corrupted. Thanks for the help.

    All the best

I used to have a nice sidebar on my Dashboard page - now there's nothing - well, I still can access my profile page. So what do I do? I cannot access my pages or add any comment...

Warning I am NOT computer savvy - answer this question at your own risk.
