   Okay, this is weird.

   Just upgraded to 2.8.6. When I log into my dashboard, I am missing the menu bar on the left-hand side. The 'Help' button doesn't work.

   I can access the various editing pages if I enter the url to them directly, I just don't have a sidebar!

   The site comes up and displays just fine. Search function, etc. works.

   Any thoughts?

   Try reuploading the wp-admin folder; the first upload might have been interrupted.

   1. Downloaded the package again from wordpress.org just to be sure I had a good copy.
   2. Deleted wp-admin for good measure
   3. Uploaded new wp-admin

   Unfortunately, this didn't work. More thoughts?

   I'd upload fresh copies of all other WP files, then and deatcivate any plugins, too, for a minute and see if that helps.
