Darkzone from Magpress issue with Plugins

Hi, I am a first time user, and this is the first site I have ever worked on. I am having issues with 2 things. 1, I wish I could remove that footer on my site, but when I attempt to I get the 500 error, server not found. 2 is that any plugin i install kills my featured content slider, I have no clue why. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Here is a link to my site MD BarHop , also there is one more thing. I dont know how to move the wordpress so it shows under just my domain name, mdbarhop. Do i need a redirect, or physically rename the wordpress app or….I dont know. I use it on a Virtual server with 1and1.com I manage everything though, I use .org, not .com. Thanks again
