• I started building my wordpress site before my domain name was pointing to my server, and because of this there are quite a few links using the server ip address as opposed to the domain name (eg 204.111.104.2 as opposed to http://www.mydomainname.com) None of the links are broken because of this but I was wondering if this could be a security issue in the future.

  • Its not a security issue. Your domain name is really for people. Computers all use the numbers anyway and it is trivially easy to get your IP address from your domain name. There are services all over the web that will do the conversion. I even have an app on my phone.

You can clean that up with something like Velvet Blues Update Urls, which I have used a couple of times and have been happy with. Backup your database first though, as you always should before messing with it.
