I use Dynamic Widgets to display certain widgets on certain days of the week (there is a designated area that displays a different widget each day), but the widgets change at the wrong times--rather than switch at midnight, they switch at 7 pm the night before. My site is in the appropriate time zone (New York), so I'm not quite sure why this is happening / how I can fix it. I tried switching the time zone to a city that is 5 hours behind here, but that didn't change anything.

Yes, this is a known issue. Dynamic Widgets is using the webserver time. In the latest development version this issue has been fixed. DW is using the WordPress time.

Thank you. Would you recommend updating to the development version now?
If you need this issue fixed, yes. If you can live with it for the time being, I wouldn't bother.
Be warned: Development versions are always beta. I didn't make any major changes between the latest release and this version. Only 4 bugfixes, addition of the Danish language and an upgrade for the Pods module.
