Installed Top 10 - version 1.9.8.5 today. I Only want to use the back-end Admin features of "Total Views" and "Today Views"

My issue is that only "Total Views" is counting visits, not "Today Views". Can you provide any information please as to how to correct this.

    Thank you

Do you have Enable Overall Stats and Enable Daily Stats ticked in General Options?

Yes - the following details specifically the only things enabled in General Options:

    Enable Overall Stats
    Enable Daily Stats
W3 Total Cache Fix (because WP Super Cache is installed)
Post Types to include in results (Post)
Display page views on Posts >All Posts in Admin

Nothing was touched under the other tabs following installation.

I look forward to your feedback.

    Thank you

Can I have a URL to your site to check this out?
Are you in a position to check the tables in your database?
If so, can you see if there is a table which has a name containing tptn_daily and if there are results in there?

    Hi,

    The URL is http://www.adultessentials.com/

The only tables that I could see were:
    WP_Top_Ten_Daily
    WP_Top_10

    Thank you again

    Hi,

I don't see any problem with the code working.

Do you see any entries with "2599" in both tables?

An extreme measure is to deactivate, delete and re-add the plugin from your WP-Admin area.

It will delete your data and all hits. You should export the two tables above and restore them after you do so.

Yes, 2599 is first entry in both tables...links provided show screenshots of both.

I'm not worried about losing the post view history, I can delete & re-install...if that doesn't change anything should I "call it a day" or would there be other options.

I appreciate your help in this matter. Thanks

If there are entries for 2599, it's likely that this is working.

I should have asked this before. What do you mean by "not counting in admin"

If you're happy to do a fresh install, you should deactivate the Plugin and then Delete it from within WordPress Admin. This will delete all the data and options of the plugin, so when you install, it will be a clean slate.

What I mean by not "counting post views in Admin" is the back-end stats that display.

"Total Views" is counting, but "Today Views" is not counting. If I enable views to display on the front-end both counters work.

Therefore, why will Today Views not show in the back-end on my blog posts?

    Hope that clarifies. Thank you

I think it does now. So on the front end, things are fine, its just the backend doesn't display anything.

What is the value of the field in the settings page?
"Daily Popular should contain views of how many days"

What happens if you change it to 7?
