   hi,

   i have created a blog with 2 static pages like contactus and testpage.
   when i click on the contactus page the url is something like http://domainname?p=12, i want the url to look something like http://domainname/contactus similarly for testpage: http://domainname/testpage. Can anyone tell me how to do this...

   admin - settings - permalinks:
   custom structure: /%postname%

   hi alchymyth,

   i did this..... but its not working....
   it give me blank page... any guess why this happens.

   just a blank page? no header? no 404 not found?

   read this part of the codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks ,
   prticularly the paragraphs about .htaccess

   yes, just a blank page no errors and no 404 not found.... i have done the setting in permalinks custom structure to /%postname% ....even then the problem continues....
   yes for this problem kind of problem the 2nd option is to do changes in .htaccess..... but im not sure what changes i need to do....
