   Here's a couple sites that have homepages with extra sections, that seem to (I believe) show the latest posts from various categories.

   I was wondering how these sites might be doing this? Is this with some particular plugin, and/or are there sets of themes that accomplish this?

   Thanks for the answers.

   Is there any theme which has expandable navigation menus which are vertical, rather than horizontal? i.e. where they are on the left of the page and expandable to the side, instead of at the top of the page and with drop-down expansion.
