I cant seem to figure out how to remove certain things from a theme.

    <div ><div id="from-blog"></div>
    <div id="footer-widgets" class="clearfix"></div>
and a readmore box on a Slider.

In Mozilla FIrefox - If I right click the specific area and go to Inspect Element I can delete each node and make it look fine there, but I dont know which html/php files I need to edit and what code I need to edit to remove these.

It depends on how your theme and site are coded/set up. As you are using a Commercial theme, you'll need to contact Elegant Themes for help.
