I have tried to change the current footer text which is:
"Copyright © 2012 · Lifestyle Theme on Genesis Framework · WordPress · Log out"
I dont think i want that to be on my site. Am i allowed to changed that? if yes how?
I intend to add my own personalized tex relating to the website content, and not the theme.
Thanks!
Yes you are allowed to do that. Go to appearance > editor
Select the footer.php in the right hand side, locate the text and make the edits.
Thanks! although unfortunately "Lifestyle Child Theme: Stylesheet" seems to be the only theme without that "footer.php" option. :(

Have a look in index.php, may be in there.
A list of the files that it's displaying would be useful, though.
If lifestyle is a child theme, then that means that you will need to get the footer from the parent and add it to your child theme.
Here's some info about making child themes - http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
Have a look at the bottom as well. There's a list of resources.
Epic!.. Thanks Christine... will be trying this option

Any chance you could tell us how you fixed it?
I can't find any parent theme and Im using Lifestyle.
As Genesis Theme and its Child Themes are commercial products, you should consult the support offerings of the developer, StudioPress.
