   Anyone know of a plugin that will modify the footer.php on certain posts when enabled? The default will be shown when the plugin is not enabled...

   This is not a plugin but it is a really simple fix. I just posted a blog about creating custom sidebars, headers, footers, etc. You can find the solution by using custom fields. Check out the quick tutorial here:
   http://wpmu.org/making-wordpress-more-modular-with-multiple-sidebars-headers-and-footers You will be able to specify the customer footer on a case by case basis.
