    Hi

    I'd like to customize twentyten theme in my WP 3.0.5, to get wider pages than standard 940px.
    I tried to modify the header size declaration in functions.php but.. it only changes the size of header :-S

    Can anyone give me an advice?
    Thanks

    Alberto

    you need to edit style.css of your theme.

    details depend on what you want to expand.

    also,
    twenty ten will be overwritten with your next upgrade of your wordpress version - consider http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    @ Alchymyth: thanks a lot! :-)
    I've made a child theme, copying the old one and modifying it.

    Now I'm looking in style.css and I've found two rows that seem to be usefull:

    #access .menu-header, div.menu, #colophon, #branding, #main, #wrapper{margin:0 auto;width:940px;}

    #access{background:#ffffff;display:block;float:left;margin:0 auto;width:940px;}

    but... if I change 940px to 1024px... nothing seems to happen.
    Is there some other tag to get a wider (1024px) page?
    :-S

    Thanks

    Alberto

    try to clear the browser cache by pressing 'CTRL F5' - or pressing the 'reload' button.

    @ Alchymyth:
    The cache plugin made me crazy :-D
    Now it works.

    I've made another change to #container and #content.
    In this way... I can use the full additional width for posts in main coulomn (it was a your advice in another post)!
    :-)

    Thanks a lot!

    Alberto
