Customize navigation bar

    I want to customize my site’s navigation bar.The navigation bar only displays the pages that my blog has but instead i want to show some other text in the navigation bar.
    Like i want to give home,about us, contact us and other links in the navigation bar instead of the pages that are in my blog.

    Can anyone help me out with this?

    Can you set up a new menu in the dashboard under Appearance > Menus, with the links in the order you want? http://codex.wordpress.org/Appearance_Menus_Screen

    Yes i am able to set a new menu with all the links in the order that i want.
    But what i want to do is to customize the navigation bar of my website.
    As of now there is no menu created in the menu tab.
    How am i supposed to edit the navigation bar?
