   I need to remove everything from the sidebar that's currently in the the theme template, and insert only a heading and a contact form.

   Do I just work with sidebar.php - remove all the codes from there, and simply insert the text and the contact form code?

   this is my second WP website. Someone has fixed the sidebar in my first website for me so that I have ONLY a heading and a contact form. However, when I tried to copy and paste all the codes in sidebar.php from the first to the second website, I noticed that in that "fixed" website all the codes are still there, so I have no idea how this has been done. and when I still copied and pasted, there was no change in my second sidebar.

   my knowledge of html is VERY basic, so I would appreciate a step by step, very clear instructions.

   Knowing what theme you are using would help.
