   I'd like to change the sidebar on my homepage. I got as far as creating a third, widget ready sidebar, but I'd like to know if there's a way to replace sidebar 2 with sidebar 3 for the homepage only, without having to create a custom page template in HTML, since it's only the sidebar that will change.

   Are there any plugins that can do this, or is there some code I can drop into the homepage?

   i'm not sure about sidebars, but for widgets, i used this on my site http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-context/
   it will let you specify what pages or categories each widget should appear or be hidden.
