Events Manager
[resolved] Custom URLs for event categories (3 posts)

We've replacing some hand-updated pages with Events Manager category pages. If possible I'd really like to preserve the existing URLs.

I have a page with a few children. My page URLs look like
    /classes
    /classes/knittng
    /classes/crochet
    /classes/needlepoint

I've set up Events Manager with a category structure that mirrors my old pages. They have urls like
    /events/categories/classes/
    /events/categories/classes/knitting/
    /events/categories/classes/crochet/
    /events/categories/classes/needlepoint/

I'd like to set up Events Manager to work with the old URLs but I'm not sure the best way to do this. I could write a special apache rewrite rule for it, but that seems like asking for trouble. I read through the documentation page on custom permalinks, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to apply that example to category pages since those are set up a little differently.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'd say an apache rewrite rule would work best for you

i THINK a normal htaccess Redirect may even do the trick (may need correcting, been a while :))

    Redirect Permanent /classes/ http://site.com/events/categories/classes/

since redirects do pass on the extra directory/file structure.
