Hi everyone,
Is there a way to create your own thumbnails in NextGen Gallery? So, in other words, to upload a main file and a thumbnail file for each image.
Or failing that, is there a way to re-position the crop area for the auto-generated thumbnails? At present it simply crops the centre of the image which doesn't always make for the best thumbnail.
Thanks!

Just to make it clear - I have several long portrait images, but my thumbnails are set landscape or square. Therefore the thumbnail takes only a square section from the middle of the portrait image.
I am happy with the size and dimensions but would like to shift the crop area up so that, for example, I can show someone's head from the top of the photo rather than their midriff. I am happy to creat my own thumbnails manually but was not sure how then to get NextGen Gallery to recognise them.
If this is not possible - just say so. A 'no' is better than no answer at all.
Thanks!

Integrating Scissors in NextGen would be a very nice solution...

Has anything been done yet to fix this? It's pretty annoying that the thumbnails often look silly with - as you say - just someone's midriff instead of their head.

Any chance that the cropping of thumbnails may be included in the next core upgrade? Thanks.
