   I have given my custom theme a unique name and description, and I'm using the Default theme as its template. For some reason, when I alter a file, say header.php, in my custom theme, it also is updated in the default theme. Is there any way I can make each theme independent of one another? Thanks.

   Make sure you copy the wp-content/themes/default folder to a new folder such as wp-content/themes/mycustomtheme
