  • Hi Alana,

    I hope you’re doing great today! 🙂

Hmm, I suspect this one has completely to do with what you’ve set for the theme’s options. Are you able to see any widgets at all on your blog page?

Would you be able to provide a link so we could have a look?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David,

Thank you for getting back to me. The link is

    http://www.safetyneteducation.com/resources/

No other widgets will display on this page either. I’m running Customizr theme.

    Thanks again.
    🙂 Alana

    Hi @alanabbb,

Thanks for that. Could I just confirm, even if you deactivate Custom Sidebars, you’re unable to get any widgets to show in that page?

If so, that actually sounds like an issue with the theme itself. Have you considered asking the developer about it?

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

I was able to get the normal right side bar to show up and have just built that as an exact replica as my custom sidebar. I’m unsure why it would accept one and not the other.

    Thank you for your help

Still having problems with this sidebar….when I build the replica of my custom sidebar and activate that it also shows on my homepage (static page) and I can’t get rid of it.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Alana,

    Hope you’re well today! 🙂

Sorry that’s still not working for you yet. I’ve actually just tested this again using the Customizr theme and got custom sidebars well in Pages just fine.

I was wondering, do you have all the widget areas selected in your options page at Appearance > Custom Sidebars, like so:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7bdY1zZi8JeNC14WW9DcFBfYTQ/edit?usp=sharing

And when you go to edit that page, in the Sidebar section do you have that custom sidebar selected like so?
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7bdY1zZi8JeZEoxSEpzYVNMMXM/edit?usp=drivesdk

Or if you’ve already got that setup, could you provide a screenshot of your page at Appearance > Custom Sidebars?

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

    That managed to fix it.

    Thank you for your help.

Easy solution I just didn’t know where to look.

    🙂 Alana

    Hi Alana,

You’re most welcome, glad that sorted it. 🙂

    Cheers!

    David;
    Howdy!
I’m updating a Genesis site on a local server and got fed up with their “simple sidebars” plugin so am tryng yours. I created a custom sidebar but non are available in the page edit screen so I don’t see this.
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7bdY1zZi8JeZEoxSEpzYVNMMXM/edit
    but rather this

“You can assign specific sidebars to this post, just select a sidebar and the default one will be replaced, if it is available on your template.

There are not replaceable sidebars selected. You can define what sidebar will be able for replacement in the Custom Sidebars config page.”

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi @timlh,

    Hope you’re doing well! 🙂

Could I ask, have you ensured all the sidebars are selected/highlighted from the settings page as shown here?
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7bdY1zZi8JeNC14WW9DcFBfYTQ/edit

Only with those selected will you be able to see the various sidebar selectors in the Page creation screens.

    Thanks,
    David

    Hey there.

We haven’t heard from you in awhile, so I just wanted to check in to make sure all was good.

This thread was marked resolved, but please, if you still need help then just respond and open it back up. We can then take it from there. 🙂

Hope you have a fantastic day!

    Hi David,

I too am running Customizr, and created a custom sidebar for my blog. It is not showing up. I read through this thread to try to troubleshoot, and I clicked all of your links.

    Site link: http://www.glaciernordicclub.com

    Some info:
    * WP, theme, and plugins…all up to date
    * I just uninstalled/reinstalled your custom sidebar plugin
    * “Custom Sidebars” does not appear under “Appearance in the WP dashboard
    * unchecked under Posts & Pages layout (in the Customize area of the theme: “force default layout everywhere”
    * checked in WP’s widgets area/default right sidebar: “allow this sidebar to be replaced”
    * chose “Blog Sidebar” in the post’s “edit” version
    * running Firefox; it’s up to date

Can you help?? Thanks very much, r.

David…please disregard my post above. The custom sidebar just appeared. Don’t know what the heck I did…been working on this all day. Appears FIX’D!

I had been trying without success to get the custom sidebar to appear on the Blog PAGE. The custom sidebar now appears on the Blog POSTS.

    Hi @ritabean1,

Thanks for posting on the forum.

Ideally its not a good process to post on a thread 6 months old. The plugin has changed since then and also as per the Forum Welcome, you should post your own topic 🙂

To help keep support tickets separate, could you please open a new thread for your new question on the custom sidebars support forum http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/custom-sidebars This helps to prevent any confusion as I’m sure you understand.

This might also help other members looking for a similar answer. 🙂

    Have a fantastic day!

    Cheers,
    WPMU DEV
