[resolved] Custom Sidebar Not showing Up (10 posts)

I have the custom sidebar activated for this post, but the sidebar isn't showing up.

I checked the screen options, and sidebars are indeed enabled for this post.

I also have the custom sidebar correctly selected in the widget.

    Any idea what's going wrong?

I'm wondering if my theme just doesn't work with this plugin, perhaps? But even if that is the case, how can I confirm that?

I did notice, however, that when I re-select the normal sidebar for this post, the normal sidebar shows up again.

I just thought about it; perhaps I have the custom sidebar set up wrong, perhaps?

Here is a screenshot of the one I'm trying to get to work to no avail.

When I select it from within the post editor, the sidebar disappears altogether.

Do I have the html for the custom sidebar in the wrong box? I'll do some research on this on my own, but thought I'd mention this here in the forum in case someone else might know. Thanks

After reading the first comment in a blog post about this plugin, I'm wondering if one of the following two issues is existing, which could cause this issue; either the

    1. Theme I have in-place fails to load dynamic sidebars properly, or

    2. The theme doesn't use the wp_head() function in its header

I was just researching, and found that either of these circumstances can lead to the issue I'm experiencing.

Now I need to figure out how to see if either of these issues are taking place.

I just tested with the TwentyTwelve theme, and nothing shows up either way (I'm assuming that theme doesn't support sidebars).

I think activated the old theme I was using, and I can only get the default theme to show up, regardless of whether or not I have the custom sidebar selected for the specific post. I'm assuming this means that the second theme that I tested with doesn't support dynamic themes.

I'm completely lost here on what's going on. Any help is appreciated.

Per this blog post and the first comment in this one, the wp_head function needs to be in the functions.php file. From what I see in the functions file, wp_head is indeed there, so that couldn't be the issue, right?

I have the same problem, but the head function is there and the theme supports dynamic sidebars. It was working before and I changed to the "Flexible" theme from elegant. I am remaking a site to be responsive and I am completely flustered.

I really wish I new what you did to fix your issue agfree
