Custom search form for media-tags (3 posts)

    Hi,

    Great plugin - it really enhances the use of the WordPress media library by alowing tagging of media.

    What I'm looking to do is to implement a custom searchform for mediatags. ie. creating a search form that only searches through the media library titles and media-tags. Basically doing what the search form in the media-tags tab of the controlpanel does.

    Is this possible and has anyone done this?

    Thanks
    Rune

    Hello Rune,

    Any success with this? We also need this search feature, and though we would check before writing our own solution.

    @Rune Clausen, @Baden,

    Search for the front-end is probably not ever going to be part of the plugin core. The cutoff point for the plugin (my decision) was to just add the under pinning to the new taxonomy for media. And a few template functions. Doing things like search and or widgets has been done by others. Check the wordpress.org plugins.

    Search on the backend is somewhat difficult now that WP has changed the media section. Searching on Media > Library can't be limited to just Media-tags since again that form is owned by WP core and very little can be done to override elements like search.
