custom post types category header image

I’ve been using custom post types and use the archive-slug.php page to display them. I was no wondering if I want to add a custom header image for this archive page, how I could do that. With taxonomy? Can I use it in the archive page? How could this look like if it is an image? The archive page should display an header image or if no header image is there, it should just keep the title. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
