   Is there a way to create a custom post type called "Profile" and make it so that only the administrator(s) or the owner of this "Profile" post type can edit his/her post. Others will be able to see the user's profile post but not edit.

   may help

   Might be too much.... But it's real good for controlling access to anything, in pretty much any way you want
