Support » Plugin: Buddypress Xprofile Custom Fields Type » Custom post type

  • Hope all is well, thanks for the awesome plugin.

Trying to figure out custom post type. When enabled it allows you to choose an actual post not the post type.

What I am trying to accomplish is to allow my users to post to a custom post type and display it in the activity feed and all other areas of BP like all other activity.

Am I missing something or does your plugin not do this?

    Thanks for the help

Sorry, but this type of field is not doing what you think. This type of field is meant to create a country field for example using the Countries plugin.

Is this a possibility? I’m looking for something similar. The ability for a member to add rich text or post like content to the different profile sections of their user profile.

mmm, I’ve been trying to add a rich text editor but then I have to let it go because it was too complicated to integrate…

You can request new features on Github. I can’t promess anything but maybe in the future I can integrate it or other developers can help you.

I have a developer working on it. I’ll be happy to share the results if everything works out well. If you’d be willing to share some of your difficulties integrating it it might save some time or us making the same mistakes. I’ll contact you via GitHub about it.

Kollegger – did you make any progress on this? I’m just setting up BP and surprised the extended profile doesn’t allow WYSIWYG or rich text editors.

    Thanks man!

Still have someone on it. A little more complicated than originally thought. Should have something early next week. I’ll definitely share the results back with the original plugin when it’s done.

Sweet – thanks man. Look forward to it!
