• I am importing some posts from my earlier blog database. Those post were indexed with URL, Lets say : http://techbracket.net/?p=x . Where x is the post id in the earlier installation of wordpress

Now i have made a fresh installation of wordpress, now i want to put that article, but already i have put many post, hence when i add that article, the URL generated is http//techbracket/?p=N . Hence N =! x.

Though, i have checked the x is yet not taken by any article. Can anyone please help me, and tell me how can i assign custom post ID to a post.

    Thanks a lot

  • The only way I’ve seen to do that (since I’m trying to actually clean up and reorganize completely) is manually changing it in the database, but you also have to change the id for the associated tags, categories, enclosures, etc.
